How to Become a Stockbroker in Ohio
(A) – Education
Before seeking licensing or registering with the state, a degree from a university either in Business, Accounting, Finance or Economics is recommended. Becoming a stockbroker requires also hours of training which you’ll receive on the job as a stockbroker trainee or junior stockbroker.
(B) – Licensing
Next, you’ll require sponsorship from a registered firm which will guide you through the registration process by FINRA’s Central Registration Depository (CRD). The Series 7 Exam must be passed and a fee of $305 in a Flex Funding Account will be withdrawn. The Series 63 Exam is not required in Ohio.
(C) – Registration
The Ohio Division of Securities is tasked with licensing and giving stock brokers the go-ahead to trade in securities. Form U-4 should be submitted via WebCRD.
