How to Become a Stockbroker in New Mexico
[A] – Education
Either a Finance, Business or related degree from an accredited university is also encouraged. And while in college, taking advantage of internships will help you in gaining experience and networking opportunities.
[B] – Licensing
You also need sponsorship from a duly licensed, FINRA – member firm to take the Series 7 exam. Otherwise, you can receive sponsorship from an exchange or a self-regulatory organization. The fee for this exam is $305.
The Series 63 or 66 Exams are required as well. The fees are $125 and $155 respectively.
[C] – Registration
To facilitate trades for clients, you must be registered and licensed by the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department in the Securities Division. Form U-4 should be completed and sent to the Division with a $50 fee.
