How to Become a Stockbroker in Iowa
[1] – Education
In order to compete for a position at a brokerage firm in Iowa, a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business is highly recommended. Seeking an MBA would also help with job searching as you would be eligible for advanced placement.

[2] – Licensing
The Series 7 Licensing Exam is required to trade securities for clients. A brokerage firm must sponsor you to take this exam which comes with a $305 fee. Also required by this state are the Series 63 and 66 Exams.
[3] – Registration
And in order to operate in Iowa, all agents must register through the Securities & Regulated Industries Bureau. There is a $40 fee when registering as an agent.
