How to Become a Stockbroker in Delaware
[A] – Education
Becoming a registered representative in Delaware is a long process of education, testing and training. Obtaining a college degree is the first step to becoming a stockbroker in this state.
Expect to take courses in:
- Corporate Financial Management
- Marketing and,
- Investment Strategy
[B] – Licensing
There are no college degrees that’ll allow you to buy and sell securities on behalf of clients – that requires licensing. However, in order to take the Series 7 License, you must be sponsored by a brokerage firm that’s apart of FINRA.
And they prefer applicants who have obtained a degree in Finance, Business or a related field. You’ll need four months on the job before taking the Exam. Additionally, a Series 63 or 66 License is required by the state as well.
[C] – Registration
