How to Become a Stockbroker in Mississippi

[1] – Education

Those who wish to prospect in this state and offer financial services should seek quality education from a college or university. In order to become a broker/dealer agent, firms often require that a degree in Finance, Business or related field be obtained.

[2] – Licensing

Once hired by a firm, they will sponsor you to take the Series 7 Licensing Exam. This will allow you to trade securities like options, stocks and bonds on a clients behalf. The fee is $305.

The Series 63 or Series 66 Exam is required by the state as well. The fees for each respectively are $125 and $155.

[3] – Registration

Form U-4 should be submitted through FINRA’s CRD (Central Registration Depository) along with a $50 fee in order to be registered in the state.
